A chance meeting at a rehab clinic brings together Judy Garland and Kansas playwright William Inge. Forming an impromptu partnership to write the singer's autobiography, the two share stories about addiction, overbearing mothers, cyclones, candy bars, lost loves, destroyed manuscripts, traffic tickets, oral sex, attempted suicide and ruby slippers.
